Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara’s wife Pooja Pujara’s reaction after he was given not out by the third umpire after DRS review is just priceless. It became a moment of the match as camera person just pointed at her at the right time.
The incident occurred when Cheteshwar Pujara was batting at 86 runs on the third day of the first Test match against England. Pujara was facing Zafar Ansari when he missed the ball. Ansari and the England team went up in unison as the ball had hit Pujara on the back leg and the ball appeared to pitching in line hitting the stumps. Pujara had the intuition that the ball was missing the stumps as he was playing forward and the ball hit on the thigh. He knew the ball hit him high.
Pujara took the call and asked for DRS. When the decision was reviewed, Pujara was proved right. The ball pitched in line but was high. It was not going to hit the stumps. The decision that he was out was changed by the umpire. He was judged not out.
As soon as the decision was announced, Cheteshwar Pujara’s wife Pooja jumped with joy like a child. That was the funniest moment of the match. Cheteshwar Pujara went on to score a hundred. He got out at 124 runs.
