PKL auction: Meet Nitin Tomar, outcast turned blue-eyed boy who smashed into the record books

PKL Auctions Live: Rohit Kumar was the person who held the record previously for the highest buy with Rs 81 lakhs

Nitin Tomar, at the age of 22 has become the toast of the nation, where the sport of Kabaddi is slowly but surely grabbing eyeballs. We live in a cricket-crazy nation where no other sport is of high significance apart from cricket but these strong men who take on eachother in a mat have caught the attention of the world. The sport is explosive, not for the chicken-hearted and requires a lot of mental strength, it is also a sport where planning every move is important. The 22-year-old from Baghpat’s Malikpur village was snapped up by Team Uttar Pradesh after an intense battle with Telugu Titans for Rs 93 lakh. This is a record amount, he was the ace raider for Bengal Warriors in the previous editions. In fact, for Bengal Warriors captain Nilesh Shinde, Nitin was his go-to man whenever the team was in a spot of bother.

Rohit Kumar Baliyan was the person who held the record previously for the highest buy with Rs 81 lakhs, followed by Manjeet Chillar, the toast of Pune for Rs 75.5 lakh.
