Rohit Sharma shifts gears when he crosses the 100 mark in ODIs. That’s exactly what he did in the second ODI against Sri Lanka at Mohali. Rohit also surpassed Yuvraj Singh and entered the top 10 list of hitting most sixes in ODIs. In the 44th over of India’s innings, Rohit decided to take on Suranga Lakmal and struck him for four sixes in a row. Yuvraj had 155 sixes in ODIs. Shreyas Iyer took a single off the first ball of Lakmal’s over and then Rohit unleashed the ‘HITMAN’ mode.
First six: Lakmal tried to bowl a yorker but could not get it in the blockhole. Rohit converted it into a full toss and struck the ball over long on for a maximum.
Lakmal let the pressure get the better of him as he bowled a wide ball to follow.
Second six: Lakmal once again tried to reach for the yorker but ended up bowling it on Rohit’s pads. He flicked it off his pads and over the deep square leg boundary for a maximum.
