Shahid Afridi at his hilarious best, trolls himself at an event — WATCH

Afridi has been a great ambassador for sports in Pakistan and has inspired many youngsters to take to the game

Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi, also known as ‘boom boom’ Afridi, thanks to his hitting prowess. Afridi held the record for the fastest century in limited overs cricket, which was 100 off 37 balls. Afridi and Saeed Anwar in their heydeys formed arguably the best opening pair in ODI’s. Afridi was also a utility cricketer, who could bowl and break partnerships. He often gave 7-8 overs in an ODI, which was helpful as he provided the team with the balance they were looking for. Now that he is retired from the game, he involves himself in a lot of charity work, which is very inspiring. As his stop-gap career went on, he became better at bowling than batting. But still, he remained an outright matchwinner for Pakistan.

But there is one stat that he would have liked to correct, he has the second most number of ducks in ODI cricket with as many as 30 knots.

Off late, he smashed yet another ton in just 42 balls, after retiring from all forms of cricket, in the recently concluded Natwest T20 Blast for Hampshire. Perhaps he also has the longest six in ODI cricket when he smashed Tsotsobe out of the park at Bloemfontein. That shows he still has it in him. Here is the clip of that monstrous six.

Yes, that is the kind of brutality he possessed in his prime.

This made Afridi one of the most unpredictable batsmen and in a recent event in Pakistan, he took an opportunity to mock his batting. Shahid Afridi while addressing the audience claimed “Assalamualaikum, just like my batting I won’t take up much of your time”, thereby, leaving us in splits.
