Twitterati laud PV Sindhu for a nerve-wracking game in Dubai BWF Super Series final

PV Sindhu became the second Indian shuttler to bag a silver medal in season-ending tournament after Saina Nehwal (2011) in women singles

India’s star shuttler PV Sindhu lost the Dubai BWF Super Series final to Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi by 21-15, 12-21, 19-21 but everyone was impressed by her spirit in the game. Sindhu missed out on another gold medal as she lost in a nail-biter of a game. The first two sets were clearly one-sided but the third set came right down to the wire with Yamaguchi edging past the Indian Olympic silver-medallist.

Sindhu had to settle for the silver medal in yet another championship after a 1 hour 34 minutes match. Despite Sindhu not being able to bag a gold medal, majority of fans were not disappointed with her. In the stadium and on Twitter, fans lauded Sindhu’s effort.

Here’s how Twitterati reacted to Sindhu bagging a silver medal –

What a match!! Nail biting every minute of it!! Thank you #PVSindhu and congratulations #yamaguchi

I have seen #WonderWoman thrice, not the movie, I am talking about the one who played 3 ‘out of the world’ badminton finals #RioOlympics #GlasgowWC & today #DubaiSSF
The winner was different everytime but it was the breath taking #PVSindhu ,that made victory memorable for them.

Wr cannot say “the better player won”. Becoz both players were on the floor in the last game. It was intense & Yamguchi won becoz of little better stamina. #PVSindhu you won our hearts. We are sure the coach will improve your fitness in times to come.

There is something about PV Sindhu. She looks tired, but comes with an amazing smash. Where does she get that extraaaa energy from?
