Virat Kohli is one of the most athletic cricketers in the world. You will see him gutted even if he misses even half-a-chance on the field. Kohli pushes himself and his team to be better fielders and he often does so by setting an example. He did it today as well by pulling off a blinder in second slip position at Perth in second Test against Australia.
On the first ball of the 55th over, Peter Handscomb was undone by a short delivery from Ishant Sharma. Handscomb tried to play a cut short off the short delivery but ended up edging it to Kohli who jumped in the air and got his right hand to the ball.
Here’s a look at the 30-year-old’s one-handed beauty:

But he didn’t need to do it
If he would have dived down after the grab , this would atleast be the best catch of the tour !!

Earlier, KL Rahul, who was in the second slip, dropped the catch of Marcus Harris in the 45th over. Rahul could only get fingertips to the ball as it went past him and rocketed to the third man boundary. Rahul was a bit late to respond which wasn’t the case with Kohli who pounced on the opportunity as if he knew it would come his way.
After a good first session for Australia losing no wicket, Indian bowlers made a comeback in the second session as Perth pitch settled and favoured the fast bowlers. By the looks of it there will be more half chances in the slip cordon as extra bounce continues to surprise Australian batsmen.
