Indian skipper Virat Kohli is being criticised for bashing a fan for liking foreign cricketers over him. Even though the fan could have framed his statement better, but what is one random Twitter user’s opinion against a player who is ruling all forms of cricket? Kohli could have ignored the statement or framed his answer in a constructive way, unlike the troll.
Just in case you have not read Kohli’s reply to him being called an ‘overrated player’, here’s what he said,
“Okay. I don’t think that you should live in India then. You should go live somewhere else, then. Why are you living in our country and loving other countries? I don’t mind you not liking me but I don’t think you should live in our country and liking other things. Get your priorities right,”
The veteran commentator and analyst, Harsha Bhogle who has watched the rise of legends of the game over the years perfectly articulated the situation which may have led to the 30-year-old snapping at the comment.
Virat Kohli’s statement is a reflection of the bubble that most famous people either slip into or are forced into. The voices within it are frequently those that they wish to hear. It is a comfortable bubble and that is why famous people must try hard to prevent it from forming
