Canadian Doctors Protest Pay Hike, Twitter Calls Canada The “Rahul Dravid Of Countries”

If ‘Canadians are too damn nice’ memes weren’t enough, now Twitter is comparing Canadian Doctors to good guy Rahul Dravid– who recently expressed reservations about accepting Rs 50 lakh when members of the support staff got Rs 20 lakh and asked for the removal of discrimination in the rewards offered to members of the coaching staff. Why? Well, hundreds of doctors in Quebec are now protesting their salary raise. Yes, you read that right. Saying they already make too much money, Canadian doctors claimed that the hike is uncalled for.

While all of us have been waiting to get a hike, more than 700 physicians, residents and medical students from Quebec have signed an online petition asking for their pay raises to be canceled. Here’s a little excerpt from the petition-

We, Quebec doctors who believe in a strong public system, oppose the recent salary increases negotiated by our medical federations.
These increases are all the more shocking because our nurses, clerks, clerks and other professionals face very difficult working conditions, while our patients live with the lack of access to required services because of the drastic cuts in recent years. and the centralization of power in the Ministry of Health. The only thing that seems to be immune to the cuts is our remuneration ….

Contrary to the Prime Minister’s statements, we believe that there is a way to redistribute the resources of the Quebec health system to promote the health of the population and meet the needs of patients without pushing workers to the end.We, Quebec doctors, are asking that the salary increases granted to physicians be canceled and that the resources of the system be better distributed for the good of the health care workers and to provide health services worthy to the people of Quebec. “

Overlooking their own gains, they requested the resources to be distributed for the good of the health care workers and patients. Seeing this, Twitter couldn’t stop praising Canada and it’s oh-so-noble Canadians:
