Actress Hilary Duff adopted Momo, a pedigree dog from Love Leo Rescue shelter

Dogs are wonderful and it’s great that more and more people are now up for animal adoption. The rescue and shelter homes are showing a boom that more and more people are opting for adoption. Pedigree dogs are being looked after just like pure breeds. So when Mojito, a chug – half Chihuahua and half pug, found himself in a rescue place called Love Leo Rescue in Los Angeles, little did he know his life is going to change forever.

Mojito and his fellow puppers were born to a mum who ran away and got pregnant. When she returned to her owner, the human didn’t want the babies and so they landed at Love Leo Rescue. The organisation named the puppers Mojito, Daiquiri, Mimosa and Pina Colada. The organisation faced problems with their adoption for some time as reportedly the dogs with darker skins have fewer chances to be adopted because they don’t photograph that well.

Actress Hilary  Duff who already has a few dogs, was an unexpected guest at the shelter. When she met Mojito (now named Momo) she knew it was a rare connection and hence decided to adopt the little guy.

People applauded the move as this comes as another win for darker skin dogs in the world. Last year, during an interview with Buzzfeed, actress Priyanka Chopra had also gone ahead and adopted a cute puppy from a shelter, and named her Diana.

Lucky day for the little doggo and a great boost for #AdoptDontShop.
