Kevin Spacey might want to learn a thing or two from these couples about ‘how to’ come out as gay on social media. After Twitter user Caitlin Crowley shared a sweet throwback photograph with her partners showing a transformation in her sexual orientation. Caitlin’s tweet was soon noticed by many on the Internet and it went viral with many people sharing photographs of their old partners and the new ones. It was heartening to see so many people taking the courage and opportunity to come out as gay/lesbian/queer in a world that has a hard time accepting the LGBTQ community. Within no time, the amount of love that was shared on the Internet and on Caitlin’s thread was incredible.
Caitlin’s tweet read ‘Freshman to senior college, does this count as a glo up?’ (sic) and two photographs side-by-side, one with her boyfriend in first year of college and the second one with her girlfriend in senior college. For those who don’t know what does ‘glo up’ mean, the Urban Dictionary defines it as ‘a twist of the phrase “grow up”, referring to a person’s incredible transformation. This is usually based on increase of style and self-confidence.’
People from the LGBTQ community found Caitlin’s tweet too relatable and shared one of the most endearing photographs with their partners. Have a look:
