The heartbreaking image of a puppy refusing to leave the armchair abandoned by his humans, just like he was, in the hopes that they’ll come back, is making the Internet teary-eyed. The photo was taken by the side of a road in Mississippi, USA. A woman who found the furniture dumped along with the pup, called the animal control room.
The canine was rescued by Sharon Norton, an animal control officer at the Brookhaven Police department. Sharing pictures of the seemingly emaciated brown pup on Facebook, she described how the puppy would not move out of the armchair, supposedly waiting for his owner to turn up.
“To the person that dumped this chair, your puppy was waiting for you to come back, slowly starving to death because it was afraid to leave the chair to find food. Shame on you for doing this to this puppy.. but one day Karma will meet up with you,” she wrote.
Her post has gone viral online and left thousands of netizens teary-eyed.
Norton has since vaccinated and dewormed the dog, and placed him in the safety of the Brookhaven Animal Rescue League in Mississippi. After he is healthy, he will be put up for adoption.
