If you’re not up to date with the entire Sonu Nigam-Azaan controversy, here’s the gist: Sonu tweeted about how he is forced to wake up early because of azaan in a nearby mosque, and how loudspeakers in religious places is ‘forced religiousness’. This angered many, while a few took sides with him.
Now here’s the fun part- A cleric recently announced a challenge: He announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anybody who could tonsure (shave off the head for religious purposes) the singer and garland him with ‘chappals’. Sonu Nigam took it upon himself to complete the challenge, and has asked the cleric to keep the money ready.
