With sexual misconducts finally being discussed in Hollywood, the music industry has decided to show solidarity with the #MeToo movement on its biggest night, the Grammy Awards.
Joining hands with the #TimesUp movement, artists and employees have been asked to wear a white rose on Sunday. The organization was formed by Hollywood celebs like including Reese Witherspoon, Shonda Rhimes, America Ferrera and 300 of Hollywood’s powerful women after the #MeToo movement addressed sexual misconduct and gender inequality in the entertainment industry.
Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Camila Cabello, Cyndi Lauper, Dua Lipa and Halsey are some of the celebrities who have agreed to wear a rose to show their support
The music industry was left shell-shocked a while ago when singer Kesha spoke out against out against her producer Dr Luke for alleged rape.
Time’s Up is trying to raise awareness that such cases of sexual harassment are not just in the entertainment industry, but in all possible industries. Over $15 million has already been raised to help the survivors of sexual misconduct.
