Some pictures indeed do speak a thousand words and are the kinds that go down in history as representation of what people believe in. Remember the man standing his ground at Tiananmen Square after the infamous Chinese crackdown on 1989 protests? Yes, that’s the stuff iconic images are made of and the Internet has now found another such recent image of a Girl Scout. Trust us, it’s very close to iconic status already.
Featuring a 16-year old Girl Scout, later identified as Lucie Myslikova and a far-right protester it shows the two face-to-face with very contrasting expressions on their faces. The snap has been taken at a #MayDay protest in Brno, Czech Republic and has been credited to photographer Vladimír Čičmanec. This photo shows a very calm teenager standing up to what seems to be a not so polite Neo-Nazi protester and Reddit loved it enough to give it 61,000 points.
Here, take a look at it.

Czech media said the girl was a part of a group of people who danced and sang in order to distract people from the far-right group’s rally. The girl reportedly held a sign saying “We will raise your children”, which is a popular Girl Scouts motto. World Organization of the Scout Motto also posted the photo on Facebook with a caption of their own which read, “”People from all walks of life, and #Scouts among them, came to the streets during an extreme right march yesterday, to express their support for values of diversity, peace and understanding. Creating a better world!”
Twitterati too joined in praise for the show of courage and composure by this 16-year-old Girl Scouts member.
