Now you can 'snooze' your annoying friends on Facebook, but there's a catch

Facebook's 'snooze' button will allow you to temporarily unfollow a person or page for 30 days

Are you seeing too many ‘Christmas is here’ posts, random political rants or holiday photos on your news feed? That cookery page you just followed, is it ruining all your diet plans?

If your News Feed is being flooded with endless annoying posts by friends and pages, whom you cannot unfriend or unfollow, then Facebook has a solution, albeit a temporary one.

The social media giant has rolled out a ‘snooze’ button (just like your alarm clock) for your News Feed. The button will allow you to unfollow a person, a page or group for about a month.

But, there’s a catch. You will be able to snooze or mute a person for a period of 30 days only.

So, how does the feature work?
For starters, you won’t be unfollowing or unfriending a person permanently when you hit the snooze button. It’s just a temporary setting.

The good thing is that the people or pages that you snooze won’t be notified (which means your best friend won’t be angry with you for ignoring his/her posts). However, ‘you will be notified before the snooze period is about to end,’ Facebook wrote in a blog post.

Also, you can ‘un-snooze’ a friend or a page anytime in between the snooze period.

So, how do I ‘snooze’ my friend on Facebook?
Snoozing friends and pages on Facebook is really simple. All you need to do is select ‘snooze’ in the top-right drop-down menu of a post by your friend.

Happy snoozing fellas!
