Music composer, Amit Trivedi is often referred to as the successor of A R Rahman and rightly so. He has given us the perfect amalgamation of melody and technology, and a genre missing in Bollywood for so long.

Amit Trivedi is a name we relate to movies like Dev D (2009), English Vinglish (2012), Udaan (2010), Queen (2014) , Udta Punjab (2016) and many more with blockbuster soundtracks. Every music lover would agree that what Amit Trivedi has given us the perfect amalgamation of melody and technology with his music. A genre that was missing in Bollywood. It is perhaps for this reason that he has often been called the successor of the music maestro, AR Rahman. Of course, there can never be any comparison between the two music composers, but it wouldn’t be wrong to say that these two have given us soul-stirring music that permeates through our heart, something that provides sanity amidst this madness.

It is no news, Amit Trivedi got his first big break and got noticed by the industry with Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D. A music composer, singer and lyricist, his compositions struck a chord with the youth with songs like Emotional Atyachar, O Pardesi, and Nayan Tarse topping the charts for quite some time, so it comes as no surprise that he won a National Award for Best Music Direction for the movie. Not to miss the RD Burman award for the New Musical Talent. Even when the movies didn’t do well at the Box Office, his music made sure the audience remember it for its soundtrack, for instance, Ranbir Kapoor-starrer, Bombay Velvet.

Many of his melodies have been rustic but they haven’t failed to impress the old and young alike because of his talent to fuse folk with new-age music. As a singer, his fans would love to differ with his critics because the songs like Nayan Tarse, Duniya from Dev D, Dhak Dhuk in English Vinglish, Ud Daa Punjab in Udta Punjab are unimaginable without his voice.
