Lydian Nadhaswaram, a 12-year-old boy from Chennai, who appeared on the talent show ‘The World’s Best’ has left everyone spellbound with his electrifying piano skills. The child prodigy from Tamil Nadu played the piano at 325 beats per minute! His performance left judges, Faith Hill, RuPaul Charles, Drew Barrymore and show host James Corden, absolutely dumbstruck. Later, he also went on to win ‘The World’s Best’ title on March 13, bagging prize money of USD 1 million.
His signature performances include playing blindfold and playing two pianos at once.
The teenager from Chennai spent 4 years training at A R Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory and spends 6 hours a day practising with his father Varshan Satish, a music director in the Tamil film industry.
KMMC’s Executive Director Fathima Rafiq told Deccan Chronicle,
“I still remember when Lydian first came to KM during our cultural festival Rangrezza on drums. After joining KM he quickly shifted to studying piano in our Russian Piano studio where his performance flair was further developed. Even from that time it was clear he would reach international platforms. We hope that KM will continue to be a platform to nurture new talents of the future.”
The young pianist has his own YouTube channel and has also appeared on ‘The Ellen Show’.
