Wonder Woman joins the ranks of ‘Top 5’ superhero movies of all time

Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman has been a huge commercial success and after breaking many a record, it has now made it to the Top 5 superhero movies of all time.

Wonder Woman has without a doubt achieved marvellous feats for a movie with a female superhero. The long-ignored DC superhero was brought to mainstream cinema by director Patty Jenkins and since its release, the film has shattered many a record, besides shattering the glass ceiling. Featuring Gal Gadot as Diana Prince, Wonder Woman has collected a whopping USD 409 million at the domestic Box Office and with it, has marked a new achievement to its name. Wonder Woman has just waltzed into the ranks of the Top 5 superhero movies of all time.

Currently, the Top 5 superhero movies, Marvel or DC, include Wonder Woman (USD 409 mn), The Dark Knight Rises (USD 448 mn), Avengers: Age of Ultron (USD 459 mn), The Dark Knight (USD 534 mn) and Marvel’s The Avengers (USD 623 mn) secure at the number 1. Up until the last weekend, Wonder Woman, was at no 6, lagging behind Iron Man 3 by a meagre USD 75,000. By Monday, the film quickly covered up the gap, exceeding Iron Man 3 by a margin of USD 4,85,000 just days before the movie’s home video release.

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman became an instant fan-favourite.

By expelling another Marvel film, Wonder Woman secured another tight spot for DC in the Top 5.

However, the film is not expected to rise on the charts any further as it looks like a harsh climb till no 4 with The Dark Knight Rises, which rests at USD 448 mn.

Gal Gadot’s third appearance as Wonder Woman in DCEU’s Justice League, scheduled for a release on November 17.

Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman has been a fan-favourite, bagging the Choice Action Movie, Choice Action Movie Actor and Choice Action Movie Actress honours at the Teen Choice Awards earlier this year. The superhero will be seen again in DCEU’s Justice League, that is slated for a release on November 17, 2017, and a Wonder Woman sequel announced for December 13, 2019.

Looks like DC has finally found its rhythm, doesn’t it?
