This week has been quite eventful for Priyanka Chopra who visited Germany to promote her latest release, Baywatch. This was also where she met in the capital of Deutschland with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While she received flak for dressing inappropriately for the meeting with Modi. And then Priyanka decided to make a visit to the Holocaust Memorial but it was only when she went forward with snapping selfies did she commit a blunder. The selfies of the former Miss World and Bollywood actor were posted on her Instagram account. Many tourists have also previously posted pictures of them frolicking and striking poses at the memorial and got criticised for it on social media for hurting the sentiments of Jewish community and now our very own Priyanka Chopra has been added to the list.
Twitter was quick to respond spewing hatred for PC and judging her for being insensitive. Twitterati considered it was highly disrespectful to pose amid the expanse of 2,711 stone slabs which represent the gravestones of 6 million Jews buried in mass graves in the aftermath of Adolf Hitler’s reign and humanity’s most horrible mass murder known as the Holocaust.
Taking selfies at the Holocaust Memorial sounds like EXACTLY something @priyankachopra would do tbh.

Why is it okay for @priyankachopra to take selfies at the #Berlin #holocaust #memorial? She isn’t striking yoga poses & all that but really?

Is it respectable for @priyankachopra to be taking selfies at the #Holocaust Memorial? pic.twitter.com/BKPpJOAsE7

Really! First she needs some lesson in history and sensitivity before posting those holocaust selfie. Is she really educated?

Earlier this year the Bollywood diva who has now become quite the sensation overseas had received flak for sporting a T-shirt for a Condé Nast Traveller cover shoot. While the T-shirt was aimed at removing tags associated with outsiders in a foreign land, many targeted Priyanka for her poor taste considering the ban on immigrants in the post-Trump era in the United States.
