Perhaps the internet needs to calm down about famous people’s children’s Instagram accounts. First, it was Aalia Furniturewalla then, Navya Naveli Nanda and then, the internet started swooning over Rabia Sidhu. Now, the internet has a new target. It’s Ramanand Sagar’s great grand-daughter Sakshi Chopra.

Remember Ramanand Sagar? The director who created the famous Ramayana series in the 80s? Ah, yes. Ramayana. With “sanskari” women covered from head to toe. One would expect the same from his lineage. Well, you guessed wrong. Sagar’s great grand daughter is no Sita.

Sakshi Chopra has the internet going completely bonkers over her simply because she posts pictures of herself in bikinis, flaunting her cleavage and curvaceous butt. Yes, she’s a young girl, yes she’s flaunting her body. Get over it.
The contrasting image of Ramanand Sagar and Sakshi has made everyone flip out. So what if Sagar made a series based on a religious mythology? It doesn’t reflect on his character. Anurag Basu made Gangs of Wasseypur, does that mean he needs to be locked up? Even so, one can’t expect people from the same family to a carbon copy of each other.
Questions immediately popped up about her debut in Bollywood when she hasn’t even expressed an inclination towards the industry. People have even started comparing her to Aalia Furniturewalla, daughter of Pooja Bedi, who got famous after doing a bunch of vlogs with her mother. Dude, she’s an individual being with choices of her own and she’s clearly interested in a singing career.
Sakshi is only 19-year-old and has made her way to the Trinity School of Music. Despite being a brilliant singer, she is now being known for her body. She speaks passionately against the objectification of women yet, here we are.
She’s recently covered Nina Simone’s hit song Feeling Good and posted the video to her YouTube channel.
Unfortunately Sakshi, unlike Sita, no one’s going to fly on a bird-plane across miles to rescue you from perverted eyes. So chill out, this will all be over soon. Hopefully.
