Playboy has a preceding reputation that comes with its name but recently, the popular magazine went a little out of their way. Play models aka the Playmates were brought back to the magazine’s covers after nearly 30 years of the original release. Playboy recreated their magazine covers featuring seven of the Playmates including Kimberley Conrad Hefner (1988), Charlotte Kemp (1982), Cathy St. George (1982), Monique St. Pierre (1978), Renee Tenison (1989), Candace Collins (1979), and Lisa Matthews (1990). The recreated covers were photographed by Ben Miller and Ryan Lowry for the magazine.
The new covers represent the timeless beauty of the Playmates. Much like Hugh Hefner himself put it, “Once a Playmate, always a Playmate.” What’s interesting is that one of the seven Playmates, Kimberley Conrad Hefner, is actually the mother of Playboy’s chief creative officer Cooper Hefner. Apparently, Cooper had approached his mother for the shoot for Mother’s Day and she was up for it! “Pretty unconventional of a Mother’s Day present,” Cooper stated in a video Playboy had posted on Twitter.
