According to his obituary in The Oregonian, the final words that the deceased heard were that President Trump had been impeached.

A US man died ‘peacefully’ after his ex-wife told him that President Donald Trump had been impeached. The incident happened in Oregon and the deceased has been identified as Michael Garland Elliot. According to his obituary in The Oregonian, and the final words he heard were that the president had been impeached.

Elliot’s “ex-wife and best friend” Teresa Elliot shared the false news to bring him comfort in his final moments, according to the obituary. “Mike ran out of family long ago and is survived by his ex-wife and best friend, Teresa Elliott,” the obituary read.

The obituary also said he “passed away … surrounded by people who loved him dearly and cared for him selflessly during the last months of his life.” Elliott, who was born in Charlottesille, Virginia, around 1940, was not a fan of the President and was reportedly angry ever since Trump won the elections.

Michael died from congestive heart failure after his health had declined over the years, his ex-wife reportedly said.

She described Michael as a “news junkie” who had expressed his disapproval of the President frequently until he couldn’t communicate it verbally.

His ex-wife will now hold a memorial for Michael at The Reserve golf club in Portland in August. Michael’s obituary states he was a founding member of The Reserve and “spent countless weekends doing what he loved most with like-minded friends.”

“Golf was his life,” Teresa Elliot reportedly said, adding that a stroke prevented him from playing.
