The attendees of the 2017 TED conference got an unusual surprise when Pope Francis himself popped in for a talk right from the Vatican. On Tuesday, the Pope Skyped with the attendees as he talked about “humility and togetherness”. He also vouched for a “revolution of tenderness.” But, that’s old news. What we really want to talk about is what comedian and talk-show host Stephen Colbert did afterwards. On Thursday, while on his The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he introduced a very special guest for a TED talk- Jesus Christ.
But, oh no no, Colbert didn’t say anything offensive (for about three seconds). He was just curious as to how an 80-year-old man managed to set up a webcam all by himself. “I think it’s impressive for an 80-year old to set up his own webcam,” the comedian joked, noting, “It’s not like he can get help from the grandkids.”

Jesus said, “I come to you today as a simple carpenter, who also happens to be the son of God.” He added, “But I didn’t get here today through nepotism.” It wasn’t actually impressive as there wasn’t a whole lot of meaningful preaching when it came to his “turning the other cheek” programme. But, then he turned water into wine so that’s always awesome.
