Indian weddings are fun. Period. While the bride and groom are filled with excitement, the spectators aren’t far behind. And why not? ‘The great Indian wedding’ does give us every reason to showcase our exuberance and keep our spirits high! It calls for shimmery stunning outfits, well-choreographed (or maybe not) dance numbers and a great satiating feast.Yet, sometimes they turn pretty sour and controversial. The same thing happened in Kulhedi village of Uttar Pradesh where a wedding was called off due to the unavailability of meat.
Thanks to Yogi Adityanath’s newly formed government and the ban of illegal slaughterhouses, the cost of meat has skyrocketed in UP. Apparently, the bride Nagma’s family couldn’t afford a lavish non-vegetarian feast, so they presented their guest with a simple vegetarian menu.
The groom Rizwan cancelled the marriage stating the embarrassment faced by his raging guests on the absence of non-vegetarian dishes like Chicken Tikka, Korma, Mutton Biryani and so on. The village council was called to pacify the groom and his guests until bride stepped up and blatantly refused to marry the groom, and the wedding was officially called off.
Suddenly, a gentleman emerged out-of-the-blue and proposed to the bride, who accepted and the couple was married on the spot.
