IPL 2017 is over, fans now 'eagerly' wait for the return of the legendary Sooryavansham

It was definitely an interesting co-incidence that Sooryavansham completed 18 years of its release on the day of IPL final.

IPL 2017 is finally over after ruling headline for almost two months. The nail-biting finish starred Mumbai Indians versus Rising Supergiants Pune who fought to the last ball, but ended up conceding defeat to MI by just 1 run. A lot of amazing memes, spoofs, jokes made it to  the trending section on Twitter post the final – including ‘IPL aunty’ to the rumour that the IPL final was fixed. But the best of the lot is definitely the come back of the legend of Sooryavansham. Sony, the official broadcast partner of Indian Premier League was telecasting live IPL matches on Set Max and Sony Six since April 18. Now that the IPL is over, Sooryavansham fans who were deprived of their favourite movie for these two months are relieved and happy again.

It was definitely an interesting co-incidence that Sooryavansham completed 18 years of its release on the day of IPL final. While Amitabh Bachchan may have tweeted ‘Its 18 years of ‘SooryaVansham’ ..a dynamic story, and one that has been on Tv a lot .. have met many who have adored it’, we aren’t sure if Twitter thinks the same . Twitter is brutal and doesn’t leave anyone.
As soon as IPL final got over, people started tweeting Sooryavansham memes and jokes about how the ‘legend of Sooryavansham’ and Hira Thakur (character played by Amitabh Bachchan) will be back on Sony Max. The movie keeps telecasting on Sony Max almost throughout the year, so much so people are confused if Sooryavansham is telecast on Max or it is the other way round. Tweets like ‘As IPL is finally over, I’ll be able to watch Set Max on Sooryavansham again’ are a proof to it and here are some more:
