Kailash Kher's Reaction To Zayn's Cover Of Teri Deewani Is The Only One That Matters

Here's what Kailash Kher has to say to Zayn Malik after listening to his Teri Deewani cover

A day after internet sensation and pop singer/songwriter, Zayn Malik’s cover of Kailash Kher’s popular song, Teri Deewani went viral, Kher has something to say to him. Malik, who recorded a cover of Teri Deewani and uploaded on his Instagram yesterday, got overwhelming praise with over 794K people ‘heart-ing’ it.

Zayn, former vocalist of the international band, One Direction, is a rage on social media. But Kailash Kher, the original singer of the popular song, was totally unaware of Zayn’s existence. He said:

“I didn’t even know who he was until someone sent me the video saying, ‘Look, who sang your song’. I was like, ‘Kaun hai bhai?’ And then I went on to his Instagram [account], and saw that he has covered the song, and he has over 27 million followers. That’s when I learnt about him and came to know that he is a big pop star in the West, who is a huge icon.”

Seems like Zayn was pretty inspired by all the appreciation pouring in, so he didn’t stop at Teri Deewani and  decided to upload another rendition of his singing. This time he gave us Kher’s famous song, Allah Ke Bande. We’re literally shook.

Happy that his compositions are inspiring people world over, Kher suggested that Zayn join his upcoming music academy (Kailash Kher Academy of Learning Arts) where they teach and help students ‘learn correct codes and proper nuances’.

” It will help him improve his skills on such songs,” he added. *insert deadpan nodding*

For all those who were blissfully ignorant of Zayn’s Teri Deewani cover, you can watch/listen to it here at your own risk:
