Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah tweets about ‘allowing an ambulance to overtake his convoy’, Twitter mocks him

Chief Minister may have been expecting that he would be lauded for his gesture but obviously, faced a heavy backlash.

After a survey conducted by a leading think-tank, Karnataka was declared the most corrupt state in India. May be Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah was trying to make his government look better by letting  an ambulance overtake his convoy but it went for a toss. With elections staring them in face, Siddaramaiah posted a tweet with a video boasting about how, following his instructions, Bangalore Traffic Police (BTP) ‘allowed an ambulance to overtake his convoy’. With this publicity stunt ahead of the 2018 assembly elections, Siddaramaih must have thought he and his party would garner more supporters and a lot of accolades for his ‘magnanimous’ gesture but Twitter came up with a fitting response instead.

Although it is a given fact that ambulance, fire fighter vans and poilce vehicles should be allowed to pass through traffic but may be things work differently in Siddaramaiah’s part of the world, because obviously, Indian poilticians feel so entitled. Also, this comes after the Narendra Modi government at the Centre issued strict guidelines not to use red beacons on VIP vehicles, in order to curb the menace of VIP culture in India.

Siddaramaiah may be expecting that he would be lauded for his act but obviously, Twitter was ready with memes and jokes already. DCP Traffic East (Bangalore Traffic Police) retweeted CM’s tweet only calling in for more sarcasm:

Here’s how it unfolded:

BTP stood by my instructions to prioritise the movmnt of ambulances against VIP convoys; today they allowed an ambulance overtake my convoy pic.twitter.com/zRDtTAb9xK
