Beef ban is the most sensitive issue in our country right now. And Twitterati plays a huge role in highlighting issues and personal opinions made by famous personalities, which more often than not gets them in trouble. So when the co-founder of travel app MakeMyTrip Keyur Joshi tried to vent his opinions out loud, he faced a major backlash from tweeple. In series of tweets, the handle (@KeyurJoshi_) stated:
““I am a strong supporter of Narendra Modi and a vegetarian for life. But I will now eat beef only in India to support freedom for food,” and continued, ““If Hinduism takes away the right to choice of food, I rather not be a Hindu.”
Thus, started series of trolls by angered Twitterati calling out names and even boycotting Make My Trip. The #BoycottMakeMyTrip campaign resulted in many people uninstalling the app and lowering the ratings. Check out few reactions by Twitterati:

Due to the extreme anger against his former company, MakeMyTrip, Mr Keyur Joshi issued an apology and then deleted his Twitter account. He said: ” “The views expressed in my tweets regarding beef ban were my personal thoughts only. I deeply regret any unintentional inconvenience or hurt caused to anybody. I sincerely apologise for this and withdraw my comments unconditionally.”
Well, this is certainly not the first time Twitter has added fuel to any controversy. Thought? Tell us in the comment section below.
