Met Gala 2017: Katy Perry, Rihanna, Priyanka Chopra hit on the red carpet, hit on Twitter

Met Gala or "The Oscars of the East Coast" is here and so is Twitter with its troll extravaganza.

Met Gala 2017 is here and boy are the clothes getting weirder by the year. It’s that time of the year when you sit back and drool over those celebrities and fashionistas and maybe try to be in your PJs and grab some popcorn because it is going to be a long ride. Organised by Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute benefit, Met Gala is a high-profile extravaganza to raise funds for the Costume Institute or the fashion department. The lavish party marks the opening of the annual blockbuster show which is known for its exuberance and larger-than-life themes.

Met Gala is famous for its high-end celebrity attendance and the grandeur of the event with its splendid entrance and a lavish red carpet, which is one of the reasons it is famously called “The Oscars of the East Coast”.

Last year, all the A-listers from the film, fashion and art industry rocked the gala with their splendour and pomp of the theme “Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age of Technology” that is the technological or futuristic representation. In other words, everybody had to dress like robots. Just like every year Queen Bey and Riri totally ruled the event. And this year too, the anticipation has come to an end because 2017 Met Gala is here with the theme “Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo” with the hosts Tom Brady, Anna Wintour, Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Gisele Bündchen.

This philanthropic-event-turned-global-party has had some major head-turners this year and since the gala is so extravagant, that automatically means that Twitter’s in the mood for a little gala themselves.
