At a time when politicians are trying to divide people by stereotyping communities and cultures, a video where Mexicans were seen celebrating the American Independence Day and dancing on Punjabi songs with their Indian neighbours has gone viral. As diverse as it gets! The video posted by one Jashandeep Kahlon received a lot of love on social media and got retweeted by more than 3k people because there’s nothing better than watching people trashing divisive forces and coming together shutting up all those who ever spoke about caste, culture, creed and race.
The video shows several people on the street in California in the US, gathered outside their houses with cars parked on the roadside and celebrating July 4, as Jashandeep Kahlon mentions in his post “By far the best 4th of July I’ve been apart of, S/O to the Mexican neighbors across the street making this lit lmaooo”. And even if you wouldn’t have any idea about the celebrations across the country, it is only fun to see Mexicans dancing, not just on superhit Mexican numbers, but also on Punjabi songs. As soon as ‘Aari Aari’ and ‘Sadi rail gaddi aayi’ start playing it is a delight to see everyone see equally pumped up about it and attempting to the signature Punjabi steps.
Here’s the tweet with the video posted by Jashandeep:
