While a number of people may take this to be an April Fools day prank, it’s NOT! As strange as it may sound, Ola charged this Mumbai resident a whopping bill of Rs149 crore on April 1 for a ride he apparently did not even take. The man identified as Sushil Narsian reportedly booked a cab from his home in Mulund West and intended to go to Vakola Market.
However, the river could not find the location of his house because his phone was apparently not working. Sushil who kept waiting for the driver also went down the street in a bid to locate his cab but failed to do so. The driver also cancelled the ride till the time Sushil could locate his cab.
Little did he know, what was in store for him when he tried booking another cab. When Sushil opened the app to book another cab, he failed to do so. The reason? He had insufficient balance and pending payments. How much? Rs 1,49,10,51,648! It’s approximately Rs 149 crore FYI. The company went on to deduct Rs 127 for a ride that never happened.
Sushil took to Facebook to share his experience. A number of people who commented on the post asked him to check if the company played an April Fools prank on him. But looks like they haven’t since the company did deduct a certain amount for just booking a ride.
For a ride that didn’t come to location specified, driver did not takeppen the door, I’m charged and how! Jai ho @Olacabs. Riding Uber now pic.twitter.com/SIOAFzs77g

Ola did extend an apology and asked him send the booking ID so that they look into the matter.
@SushilNarsian Thanks for pointing out the glitch, Sushil. We’ve corrected the issue at our end.
Here’s a small token of our gratitude. Pls check your DM pic.twitter.com/jxeJ3unlLD— Ola (@Olacabs) April 4, 2017
