Railway employee's leave application goes viral, wants a week off to binge-eat chicken

A TA-2 employee of the Indian Railways, Pankaj has written a very serious application to his station master for a week because he wants to eat chicken.

Every so often we hear weird stories but none like this. But, before we start, we have a question for all of you foodies out there, how far will you go for a bowl of chicken? Will you dump your Jain date? Or break your Navratra fast? Kill a room full of Lannister men at a shady tavern in Westeros? Now, consider this- how about taking a week off from work, listing VERY HONESTLY in your leave application just why it is exactly that you wish to stay at home. No? Well, then. You may not be as big of a foodie as Pankaj Raj Gound.

A TA-2 employee of the Indian Railways posted at Deepka, in Bilaspur district, Chattisgarh, Pankaj has written a very serious application to his station master because he wants to eat chicken. In his letter, Pankaj states that since the sacred month of Shraavana (or Saawan) is arriving soon, he will not be able to eat chicken or anything non-vegetarian for an entire month. Thus, he has requested for a week-long leave from June 20 to June 27 so that he can stay at home, sit in his sweatpants and feast on chicken to reserve his energy for the next month. Okay, we added the sweatpants bit but the rest is totally true. Here’s a picture of his leave application which has gone viral (obviously).

Such a heartfelt plea, ain’t it? Well, as per The Times of India, we don’t know whether or not the leave was granted but if it wasn’t, the station master must be truly heartless.
