Soundwave Tattoos translates any audio worth a minute’s length into a tattoo and are the first such product launched by Nate Siggard’s Skin Motion. Nate’s brainchild was born in his tattoo parlor when his girlfriend told him, “Wouldn’t it be cool if you could listen to the tattoo?” The Los Angeles-based artist was determined that he could bring this to reality and Soundwave Tattoos were born. Nate’s partner Juliana Damiano has played a key role in the app’s development. The duo was inking two friends who got the opening line from Elton John’s ‘Tiny Dancer’ tattooed at their parlor when the idea struck them.
Just like any technology, people are still skeptical about the legitimacy of this product. These tattoo designs come alive and can be played back via your smartphone. The futuristic piece of technology will be made available from June.
From a child’s laughter to your loved one’s personal message, this tattoo is a way of inscribing an audio note on your skin forever, or so the app promises.
Nate is a designer, producer and an enthusiastic entrepreneur who chose to record his girlfriend’s voice saying ‘I love you’ as well as the sound of their baby, who was four months old at the time. The soundwave is accompanied by the phrase ‘Free Will’ on top of whichever audio waveform you wish to choose. In their video, Nate claims that he already has the voice of his child tattooed on his leg and his partner chose to get an image of their dog Baci by having an image of him tattooed on her forearm, along with a recording of his distinctive howl.
The designs can be made up of any recorded sounds from noises, spoken words, music or a more complex combination of all these elements. Skin Motion promises to bring tattoos to life just like its website assures: “Record a message from a loved. Wear your lyrics.”
