Mansplaining exists, it is a word but for some reason, many people either (pretend to) have no idea about it or refuse to agree that it is what it is. And in a world we are living in, this sort of behaviour doesn’t come as a surprise, because for ages men have been conditioned like that –to explain things to women, like they don’t know shit. If you are still clueless about what we are talking about, you have definitely been living under a rock, oops, we mean you really need to catch up.
For men, it is just ‘normal’ to cut short a female during a conversation and take up the ‘responsibility’ of doing all the talking and explaining, because who knows anything better than them. As a phenomenon, mansplaining has always been there everywhere in the world, but as a term, it only came to be used in 2010 in the US. It has been critisised by many for its gender-specific connotations but whatever may be the case, mansplaining is an unhealthy behaviour of men towards women.
