Everyone’s who has ever taken the public transport in Mumbai has a ‘crazy Mumbai local’ story, but also a few unusually amusing ones come out of these rather chaotic trips. Like a video of a group of women performing garba in the ladies compartment of a suburban train that is currently going viral.
Railway minister Piyush Goyal tweeted the video, which is being widely shared, of the women dancing in a moving train while a song plays in the background.
Goyal tweeted saying, “Now this is an experience only Indian railways can provide!”
Garba is slowly achieving the status of being a global phenomenon. Recently, businessman Anand Mahindra shared a video of a New York cop doing the garba, but macarena-style. Last year, in a viral video, staffers were seen at the Ahmedabad international airport breaking into a flashmob.
This is how people on social media reacted to the video:
only indian and mumbai suburbanb train (local) rocks in world.

Superb. Gijjus can do Garba anywhere and anytime. It is so encouraging to see such an empty train that allowed them to dance so freely. Enjoyable tweet of the day. So motivating. We have to find happiness in every moment wherever we are.

Don’t get it. What exactly is the service? Anyone can play music and dance if there’s space and if it’s not disturbing others. What’s the big deal?
