“You don’t love someone because they’re perfect, you love them in spite of the fact that they’re not.”
Love is not about perfection. It’s flawed. It’s about accepting and being happy with that person despite all their imperfections. And this is what Pete has been doing.
“Hello, my name’s Pete and ever since I began dating my partner Kellie 5 years ago I’ve been making her illustrations based on our lives together ever since we started dating, to capture the funny things we say and do together,” told Pete to Bored Panda.
Initially, only Kellie could see those illustrations but last year they decided to set up an Instagram page and upload all the love-filled illustrations. “We’ve been gradually building up a small and loyal following of super lovely, kind people. We’ve been overwhelmed by how positive and warm the support is,” said Pete.
And now another member has joined Pete’s family and Pete can’t help but draw her as well. “Now we also have a daughter, Poppy, and the illustrations have become a visual diary of everything, from us deciding to try for a baby, to the tough pregnancy, right through to her being the amazing toddler she is now,” he added.
