Twitter has a new frenemy, wants to ‘Boycott MakeMyTrip’ for this reason

After Snapchat and Snapdeal, MakeMyTrip comes under the scanner of the Twitter police. This is why they want to boycott the travel website

#BoycottMakeMyTrip is the new trending hashtags, you guys. It all began when a Twitter handle by the name of Keyur Joshi – the co-founder of Make My Trip spoke about the beef ban. We have reached out to him to verify whether or not @KeyurJoshi_ is his real account or not but haven’t received a reply yet. In a nation that is already in the midst of a very prolonged debate about whether or not beef can or should be banned, the tweets have raised a controversy. While the Twitter handle has been suspended, the screenshots have been doing the rounds of social media with calls for boycott of Keyur’s former company MakeMyTrip.

In series of tweets, the handle @KeyurJoshi_ (which has now been deleted) wrote about the rising intolerance in the country and that ‘he is going to eat beef’ just to ‘support freedom of food’. He also mentioned that he is a strong supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has practised vegetarianism throughout his life. Check it out:

Thus, started the Twitter storm calling out names and trolling Keyur and MakeMyTrip. Someone started the campaign #BoycottMakeMyTrip. The furore reached a point where MakeMyTrip had to clarify, writing on Twitter:
