The website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) was hacked on Monday. The website showed an image of a cartoon character from the Japanese series, Doraemon with a heart and a caption ‘Doraemon!!!! Pick up the call’.
“I.M. STEWPEED” was written at the bottom of the page, while the title track of the cartoon, Doraemon, was playing in the background. The website was restored in the morning. The hack happened on the day when the recruitment application for the online services web portal of the Union Public Service Commission were supposed to begin.

This is not the first time when any website has got hacked. In May, the website of Jamia Milia Islamia University was hacked thrice within 24 hours. In April, the Supreme Court website was reportedly hacked for several hours. While in April itself, the website of the Ministry of Defence was inaccessible for several hours and later a tweet by the defence minister hinted at a possible hacking.
