What makes Indians sad? The Internet has the most heartbreaking confessions

This Quora post has the most brutally honest replies about what makes Indians sad and we can't help but reach for the tissues

Indians are not very happy people if you take a closer look at the human breed. We are not all cheery, like Americans, who greet each other even if they are strangers. Perhaps we borrowed a page or two from the grumpy book of the British after they left us reeling in their colonial mindsets. Or maybe we have just had the misfortune of witnessing some of the most depressing things in our lives that we just can’t seem to get over. No matter what we do, as a developing country, the citizens are surely going to be unhappy and dissatisfied with the way things are.

Whether it is the verdict of Guru Ram Rahim’s crimes, the crimes of a celebrity which are bound to be brushed under the carpet, the way a certain television host belittles minorities or a much larger discontentment with the surprise demonetization schemes that caused a havoc in our economy, we Indians are used to the gloom that the news brings forth.

With all that is happening in the country, someone started a Quora thread asking people what were the things that made them sad in India. To our surprise the post had the Internet come up with some very brutally honest replies:

People with disabilities, especially those pertaining to their mental health, will more often than not be mocked, ridiculed and embarrassed in the public space and even pushed to one isolated corner. Are we a country too afraid to talk about problems?

As the country entertains double-standards about nearly everything, the fun question is: What makes Indians happy when they are so clearly depressed?
