One can find love anywhere, on a train or even at a hospital, neither might be very pretty in an Indian scenario though. All you need to hit it off with the one that catches your eye is a few common interests and bingo! That’s the usual, but how many of you have ever thought of finding love on the basis of what you hate instead? This new dating app ‘Hater’ lets you do exactly this.
The app which officially launches on February 8, allows you to find potential partners on the basis of mutual dislikes. It offers you 3,000 diferent dislikes to weigh in on — butt selfies, build the wall, slow walkers and tipping less than 15%, and many more. All you need to do is swipe down to hate, up to love, left to dislike or right to like. In addition there is a built-in icebreaker game that helps you both start the conversation by posing a question and makes you fill the blank.
This out-of-the-box app is the brainchild of Brendan Alper, who left his job at Goldman Sachs to become a comedian and the idea first struck him as a joke. A few studies and some intuition later though, Alper took this up seriously and came up with this app. The app has been tested since December in New York and has had quite a positive response thus far. The top three most commonly hated topics so far are not surprisingly the presidential election of 2016, bad sidewalk and drain hair.
