Valentine’s week marked the beginning of festive February and it seems that Pokemon GO is still in the celebratory mood. The makers of Pokemon GO are releasing major updates to the popular augmented reality (AR) game and we are super excited about it!
The good news is that Pokemon GO is getting 80 new cute monsters including generation 2 Pokemon like Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile that were originally discovered in the Johto region in the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games. Apart from this, Niantic Labs is also releasing Pokemon with gender-specific variations starting later this week.
However, if you think that a couple of cutesy monsters are all that are hitting a home this week, then we have more news for you.
Starting this week, Poke trainers will have more opportunities to evolve their Pokemon than ever before. As the trainers move ahead in their quest to catch more monsters, some Pokemon found in the Kanto region will soon be able to evolve into their Gen 2 versions in the Johto region.

Pokemon enjoy eating berries and now you can use these berries to catch ’em all. The trainers will encounter more berries as they try to catch new Pokemon. While giving Pokemon a Nanab Berry will slow its movements making it easier to catch it, giving it a Pinap Berry would double the amount of candy that the trainer would receive if his next attempt succeeds.
