Dubai has become the first city in the world to get its own Microsoft font! The city already holds the record for having the world’s tallest building and having the biggest shopping centre.
Microsoft’s first typeface for a city was on Sunday launched by emirate’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed. The Prince has informed the government departments to use the new font for all official correspondence henceforth. He exuded confidence that the new font and its unique specifications will prove popular online and in smart technologies across the world. “This is considered a positive shift that will boost the emirate’s competitiveness in smart technology.”
He reportedly said that the launch of the “Dubai Font” is a very important step for them to be ranked first in the digital world.
“Dubai font is a unique project that reflects heritage & culture of UAE and reaches out to the whole world #ExpressYou,” Hamdan bin Mohammed tweeted.
