It’s party time people coz the most happening and amazing game of the year- Pokemon GO is finally coming to India!
No, we’re not kidding at all. Niantic Labs is officially launching Pokemon GO in India on December 14, 2016. And to make this distant dream a reality, the company has partnered with Reliance Jio.
The game will be available to download via Google Play and Apple Store from Wednesday.
As a part of the partnership, Reliance Digital Stores and the company’s select partner premises will appear as ‘PokeStops’ or ‘Gyms’, Jio said in a press release.

What’s more? Jio customers will also be able to download and play the game without incurring data charges till March 31, 2017.
Hold on, that’s not it. Pokemon players will even have access to an exclusive Pokemon Go Channel on Jio’s social messaging app, which will enable the players to collaborate and be part of a community of players with daily tips, contests, clues, and special events. (Isn’t that awesome!)

Pokemon GO, the virtual reality game that became a global phenomenon after it was launched in July this year, has witnessed over 500 million downloads across the world so far. However, till now the game wasn’t available in India. But that didn’t stop Pokemon GO enthusiasts to force-install the game and go around the city for capturing Pokemon.
Meanwhile, Niantic also released another major update for Pokemon GO globally.
As a part of the update, trainers will have the opportunity to hatch Togepi, Pichu and several other Pokemon that were originally discovered in the Johto Region in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games. Also, trainers will find limited edition Pikachu all over the world until December 29, 2016. These Pikachu will be wearing a festive hat to celebrate the season.
