Instagram rolls out new LGBTQ stickers to celebrate Pride

Instagram is gearing up for the LGBTQ Pride Month celebrations and it is marking the event by releasing a bunch of Pride stickers and a rainbow brush. Check out the details here

Instagram is gearing up for the LGBTQ Pride Month celebrations and it is marking the event by releasing a bunch of Pride stickers and a rainbow brush. The update consists of six new stickers that have been designed in collaboration with the LGBTQ artists from around the globe. The artists involved in designing these stickers are– Madrid-based graphic artist José Antonio Roda, Josh McKenna, Carra Sykes, illustrator Rooney and illustrator and toy designer Cute Brute.

The newly added stickers include rainbow coloured glasses and loudspeaker, an eye with the trans flag, a cartoon with a rainbow flag and the word ‘QUEER’. These stickers will be available throughout the month of June. You too can add these stickers to your story to show your support to the Pride.

To add Pride stickers to your story, follow these steps:
Step 1: Tap on ‘Your Story’ option
Step 2: Click a photo
Step 3: Tap on the sticker option and select your sticker
Step 4: Tap on right arrow icon to post your story

You can tap on the Pride sticker in someone else’s story to discover more content on Pride from around the world and find out who created the sticker.The photo-sharing platform has also added a rainbow-coloured brush to add a splash of colours to Instagram stories.

To add the rainbow brush to your story follow these steps:
Step 1: Tap on ‘Your Story’ option
Step 2: Click a photo
Step 3: Tap on the paint brush option
Step 4: Tap on the heart icon and start drawing

Apart from this, Instagram is also kicking off a global initiative urging people across the world to paint walls across their cities in rainbow colours. The iconic Paul Smith pink wall in Los Angeles has already been painted in the rainbow colours. Similar activities will be undertaken by mural artists in London, Madrid, Nashville and Cleveland as a part of the celebrations in June.
