Back in December last year, popular photo-sharing app Instagram had rolled out its live streaming feature within the ‘Stories‘ section of its platform. However, the update was available for users residing in the United States only. And finally, the app is ready for a global release.
Instagram is finally rolling out its Live Video feature on Stories to its global community. “Today we’re excited to share that live video on Instagram Stories — a new way to connect with your friends and followers right now — will be rolling out to our entire global community over the next week,” the app wrote in a blog post. The update will be rolled out over the next week and it would be available for download on Instagram version 10.0 and above on both Android and iOS platforms.
Just in case you are confused how the feature would work, follow these steps:

1. Tap on the ‘camera icon‘ in the top left of your screen.
2. Tap ‘Live‘ at the bottom of your screen, then tap ‘Start Live Video‘.
3. Tap ‘Comment‘ to add a comment and tap and hold a comment to pin it to the top.
4. To turn comments off tap ‘…‘ then select ‘Turn Off Commenting‘.
5. When you’re done, tap ‘End‘ in the top right of your screen then tap to confirm.

But before you start live streaming the beautiful moments of your life, there are some things you should know. For starters, all your followers would be notified when you start a live video and the number of viewers would appear in the top right of your screen while the comments would appear at the bottom. More importantly, any keyword filters that you turn on will also apply to comments on your live video, so you have to be a bit careful with the keywords. But other than that, you’re good to go.
