New update lets you share pics on Instagram without the app

Photo-sharing app Instagram has rolled out a new update that lets users share pics without the app using its mobile site instagram.com. Earlier Instagram had released offline feature for its app. Check out the details here

The social media space is evolving rapidly and Facebook is one of the tech giants that is changing the dynamic of the digital space using its army of apps which includes Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The company is not only working towards introducing new and innovative features to all its apps, but it is also making these apps ‘instantly accessible’ even in the areas with low network connectivity. Following the footsteps of its parent company, popular photo-sharing app Instagram has rolled out a new update that lets you share images on Instagram without the app (isn’t that cool or what!).

Instagram is letting users share images on their Instagram accounts via its mobile website instagram.com. The update also includes a light-weight version of the Explorer tab.

The new feature was first spotted by The Next Web’s Matt Navarra who got a tip on Twitter. “Instagram now lets you upload photos and publish new posts via the web!!,” he tweeted.

Tha update opens new avenues for Instagram allowing it to penetrate deeper into regions with low data connectivity. With this, Instagram has officially joined the league of Facebook’s apps that have been tailor made for low connectivity regions. This includes apps like Facebook Lite and Messenger Lite.

Earlier in April this year, Facebook had announced that the Android app of Instagram would soon be getting offline functionality. (We were able to use the offline feature on a smartphone running on Android Nougat in India).

Hope Instagram soon rolls out the feature for the desktop website too!
