In case you didn’t notice, Nokia just dropped a new phone that looks like a freaking ‘banana‘!
Well, technically it’s not a new phone but a reboot of the iconic Nokia 8110 which the company launched at Mobile World Congress (MWC) back in 1996. Interestingly, the phone also made an appearance in the 1999 movie The Matrix. Confused?
Here are the details: HMD Global, the Finnish giant which owns the license to brand Nokia, on Sunday launched Nokia 8110 4G. With its distinct curve and slider, the reboot version of the feature phone bears a stark resemblance to the original phone. The new device is available in two colours — traditional black and banana yellow.
Just like Nokia 3310, which the company launched at MWC 2017 in Barcelona last year, Nokia 8810 4G plays on the same level of nostalgia among the users. While the phone does not offer major features that available in most smartphones these days, it’s definitely a step up over the original phone.

The new Nokia 8810 4G comes with a 2.4-inch curved display with QVGA resolution. It features a 1,500 mAh battery which the company claims up can run on a standby time of 25 hours on a single charge. The feature phone also packs Nokia’s famous Snake game along with Facebook, Google Maps, Google Assistant and Twitter apps. What’s better? The device not only comes with 4GB storage space but also with a 2MP camera with LED flash on the rear side of the phone (yep, definitely better than the original phone *LOL*).
