Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus launched its flagship smartphone OnePlus 5 at a global launch event, which took place across six cities including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen and Helsinki on Tuesday. To recall, OnePlus 5 is a successor to OnePlus 3T, which the company launched in November last year. According to OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, OnePlus 5 is the most advanced smartphone that the company has ever made.
As far as India is concerned, the company will launch its fifth flagship device OnePlsu 5 at a special event in Mumbai at 2 PM on June 22, 2017.
In terms of the design, OnePlus 5 features a 5.5-inch full HD optic AMOLED display with a ceramic finish. The phone features a 7.25 mm sleek body and is available in two colour variants– Midnight Black and Slate Grey.
As far as the technical specifications are concerned, OnePlus 5 is powered by 2.45 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system on chip (SoC) and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Oxygen OS, which features a special reading mode with ambient light sensors that match up the screen’s brightness to the light around you. As the leaks suggested, the phone is available in two RAM variants– 6GB and 8GB and it comes with 64GB and 128GB storage capacities. In terms of the camera, OnePlus 5 comes with 20MP with f/1.6 aperture + 16MP with f/1.7 aperture telephoto camera at the back and a 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The phone supports Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and CAT 12 for connectivity and is backed by a 3,300 mAh battery with dash charge technology which ensures that the phone stays cool. As far as the pricing is concerned, OnePlus 5 is available for $479 (Rs 30,900 approx) in the Unites States and EUR 499 (Rs 35,000 approx) in Europe.
