In what can be described as a monumental feat for Reliance Jio, the newbie telecom operator that hit the Indian telecom sector with its lucrative offers and plans in September last year, the company now boasts of having over 108 million users active users.
According to a report by the Indian Express, as of March 31, 2017, Jio has an over 108 million subscribers and it plans to set up one lakh additional towers across the country. Jio’s website states that the telecom operators has the world’s largest data network, which is twice the combined strength of all other telecom operators in India. In terms of data traffic, the website states that Jio hosts 200 crore minutes of voice and video calls every day.
Furthermore, Jio users consume nearly the same amount of mobile data as their American counterparts. Incidentally, this is 50 percent more than the mobile networks in China.
Reliance Jio stormed the Indian telecom market in September last year with its Welcome Offer offering users unlimited data, free voice calls, video calls, SMS and video streaming services. This was followed by the Happy New Year Offer, Summer Surprise Offer and Dhan Dhana Dhan offer.

Jio and its plans rattled the telecom operators like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone, which were forced to offer interesting plans to their users to prevent them from migrating to Jio.
