Reliance Jio’s home broadband service JioFiber is expected to be launched around Diwali in October this year. According to reports, the newbie telecom service provider could launch the service offering competitive data packs as cheap as 100GB data at Rs 500 only. Just like the telecom services, Reliance Jio’s JioFiber service is likely to cause ripples in the broadband market forcing telecom giants including Tata Docomo, Airtel, BSNL and MTNL to offer their services at cheaper rates.
However, this is not for the first time that reports suggesting the launch date of JioFiber service have surfaced online. Earlier, reports suggested that the company was planning to launch the service in June. Furthermore, the company has been testing its broadband service in selected regions, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Surat, Delhi, Jamnagar and Vadodara, across the country offering 1000GB data at a speed of 100 MB per second.
